Lois Byerline Obituary

Lois Irene Byerline, 87, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Sunrise Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Virden.

 

Lois was born on March 12, 1931, in Woodson, Morgan County, IL the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Converse) Stewart.

She married Charles R. Byerline September 26, 1951 in the Methodist Parsonage in Mechanicsburg. He preceded her in death in 1981.

Lois was an avid Cardinal fan, loved to polka dance, she enjoyed fishing, and Sunday dinners with her family where she was famous for her pies.

She retired from U.S Postal service in 1993. She worked as a caregiver for over 19 years. She was a member of the Mechanicsburg Methodist Church as well as the Mechanicsburg Christian Church in later life.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Calvin and Ivan Stewart; and one sister, Lucille Carr.

Lois is survived by two sons, Charles of Mechanicsburg and Steven (Barbara), of Auburn;  three grandsons Jacob (Tia) of Dawson, Justin of Buffalo and Joshua of Mechanicsburg; two sisters Mary Ann (Bob) Kaylor, and Willa Gidel, both of Illiopolis; and great grandchildren Autumn, Karli, Lexie, Megan, Lucas and Little Justin.

Visitation will be held on Monday March 26, 2018 from 9 to 11am at Mechanicsburg Christian Church in Mechanicsburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM with Reverend Greg Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at the Christian Church after the service. 

 

Memorial Donations may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
