Doris E. Prosser, 86, of Tower Hill, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2016 at Bickford House in Springfield.

She was born on April 23, 1929 in Bethany, the daughter of Leo and Mary McGee Millsap.  She married Harold Prosser on April 26, 1947 in Shelbyville; he preceded her in death.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother who worked hard to care for her family.  She worked beside her husband on the family farm, was an avid gardener, loved growing flowers and enjoyed her life on the farm.  She attended church faithfully, sang in the choir, always had a beautiful smile, a hug and a kind word for everyone she met.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Millsap; son-in-law, Nathan Ginger; and grandson-in-law, Ed Clearwater.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Nancy) Prosser of Tower Hill, Rick (Rita) Prosser of Cowden, Shirley (Dale) Reed of Beecher City, Janet Prosser Ginger of Springfield, Marilyn (Mike) Klouse of Springfield, Kathryn Prosser of Springfield and Linda (James) Wemple of Decatur; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Stanley (Carolyn) Millsap; sister, Beverly (Sidney) Bounds; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1300 W. South 3rd St., Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Bickford House, 2451 W. White Oaks Dr., Springfield, IL 62704

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Race for Grace”. Funds may be sent to Rick Prosser at 162 N. 1500 E. Rd., Cowden, IL 62422.
