Edward Dale, 69, of illiopolis, passed away on July 26, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

He was born on September 14, 1946 in Gibson City, IL, the son of Charles F and R. Ruth Drake Dale.  He married Nancy Peters on July 27, 1969 in Illiopolis.

Edward worked as a Purchasing Agent for CAT and was a member and President of the Illiopolis Athletic Association for many years. He enjoyed hunting for arrowheads, woodworking, and making jelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Martha Dale.

Survived by his wife, Nancy Dale of Illiopolis; one son, Jim Dale of illiopolis; one daughter, Suzanne Dale, of Illiopolis; one brother, Don Dale of Illiopolis; one sister, Ellen (Gary) Whitehead of Illiopolis; six grandchildren, Katelynne McQuality, Gary Milby, Macailyn Vincent, Hunter Dale, Eli Wood, and Levi Wood; and five nieces and nephews, Beth Royce, Kathy Lindeman, Rob Whitehead, Brian Peters, and Lee Peters

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the funeral home with C.W. “Butch” Reneker officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Illiopolis United Methodist Church, and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
