Glenn Brachear passed away peacefully at Sunrise Senior Living in Naperville, IL, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. 

Born in 1930 to Ronald and Irene Brachear in Cornland, Illinois, he grew up on a farm, excelled in basketball and football at Litchfield Community High School and graduated in 1948.  He attended the University of Illinois and served in the U.S. Air Force, travelling to Europe and Africa.

Glenn married Esther Louise Taulbee in 1955.  They lived in Valparaiso, Indiana, where he taught electronics at Valparaiso Technical Institute and later served as Assistant Dean.

The family moved to Rochester, Illinois in 1967.  Glenn was an electronics instructor at Illinois Bell Telephone and AT&T.  Glenn and Esther were very active members in the Rochester United Methodist Church for many years.  He was also active with the Rochester Lions Club and the church bowling team.

Glenn is survived by a brother, Howard (Donna) of Harrisburg; daughter, Deborah of Naperville; son, Dan (Renee) of Colorado; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Rochester United Methodist Church.
