Karen Anne Watkins, 76, of Mechanicsburg passed away on January 29th, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. 

Karen was born on December 1, 1940 in Wabasha, Minnesota to Bruce and Helen Patton, who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her brother Ron Patton. She married Larry Watkins on June 18th, 1977.

Karen retired from Memorial Medical Center after 36 years of service.  She enjoyed playing poker machines, gardening, working in her yard and her twice-annual family reunions.  She was a faithful member of her church and loved her church family.

She is survived by husband, Larry Watkins of Mechanicsburg, IL; daughters Patti (Ron) Beaman of Nokomis, IL and Debi (Robert) Mathews of Kansas City, MO; sons Lester Edwards and Bob (Dana) Edwards; step-son Larry (Karen) Watkins II and step-daughter Melisa Galloway, all of Mechanicsburg, IL; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; step-mother Jean Patton; brothers Terry (Marsha) Patton, Jeff (Patty) Povlitzki and Mike Patton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4th from 1-3pm with memorial service at 3pm.  All will be held at South Tower Community Church in Dawson, IL.
