Laura June Skeeters, 86, of Springfield passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village surrounded by her family.

Laura was born on April 20, 1930 in Springfield, the daughter of Arthur A. and Gladys Ring Kelley.  She married Charles “Charlie” Skeeters in June 1951; he preceded her in death on September 18, 2015.

Laura was a homemaker and a member of Elm Street Christian Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Donna Marie Skeeters and Susan Woodward-Skeeters; three sisters, Lillian Vancil, Myrtle Burt and Mickey Hogan; and one brother, Charles Kelley.

She is survived by two children, Vicki Jo (David) Wilson and Richard (Linda) Skeeters both of Springfield; two brothers, Barney Kelley of Springfield and Jim (Judy) Kelley of Mission, TX; two sisters, Ruth Ann McCormick of Springfield and Glenda (Steve) Allison of Danville; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 noon on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Elm Street Christian Church with Pastor John Sears officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Charles Skeeters c/o Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.
