Dean L. Edwards

Dean L. Edwards, 92, of Rochester, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Dean was born on December 8, 1926, in rural Pawnee, the son of Gussie Earl and Emma Ruth Danks Edwards.  He married Audrey Ellen Beck on December 14, 1947 at New City Methodist Church in New City; she preceded him in death on February 22, 2002.

Dean was a lifelong farmer and a member of Rochester United Methodist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his wife and parents.

He is survived by daughter, Carolyn (Fred) Gerberding; sons, Charles (Sue) Edwards and Kenny (Mary Lou) Edwards; three grandchildren, Gabe (Angela) and Chelsea Gerberding, and Emma Lou (Chris)Conroy , two great grandchildren, Audrey and Levi Gerberding, one brother, Franklin Edwards, one sister, Gladys Shipman, and several nieces and nephews

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Rochester United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian Caughlan officiating.  Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Pawnee.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Rochester United Methodist Church.
