Ruth M. Dorsch

Ruth M. Dorsch, 92, of Sherman, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

Ruth was born on September 21, 1926 near Hampton, IA, the daughter of Dewitt and Irene Snow Criner.  She married Milton J. Dorsch on April 1, 1949 in Athens, IL; he preceded her in death.

She attended school in Raymond and was salutatorian of her high school graduating class.  She moved to Springfield and worked in the accounting department at Sears.  A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and baking, and was a talented seamstress.  Ruth was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Athens for 69 years and was actively involved for many years in the Ladies Aid Society.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and Dale Criner; and one sister, Beryl Theilen.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Glenn and William of Springfield; one daughter, Janice (Max) Guthrie of Mahomet; and one grandson, Lucas Guthrie of Madison, WI.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday October 26, 2018, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
