Leo Thomas Dietrich, 75, of Springfield, died on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center.
Leo was born on November 8, 1945 in Springfield, the son of Leo V. and Mary C. Laverso Dietrich.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during Vietnam. He retired from Prairie Wholesale as the Vice President after 20 years. He was a lifetime member of DAV Hal-Hagler Chapter 15. He enjoyed playing golf, watching NASCAR, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James E. Conkrite.
He is survived by one son, Michael Dietrich of Springfield; two daughters, Layne (Bryan) Sturdy of Cincinnati, OH and Veronica L. (Robert) Peck of Cincinnati, OH; 4 grandchildren, Kane Dietrich, Maeve Sturdy, Delle Sturdy, and Maris Peck; two sisters, Sharon A. (Jerry) Farley of Springfield and Darlene (Mike) Kraus of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Leo will receive Military Honors and he will be inurned in the columbarium wall.
