Marcia D. “Marcy” Harbour, 68, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at The Bridge Care Suites in Springfield. Marcy was born on November 13, 1955, in Springfield, the daughter of Kenneth E. and Velma (Falconer) Taft. She graduated from Edinburg High School in 1973 and then went on to attend Lincoln Land Community College. Marcy had many hobbies. She loved to knit, and enjoyed spending evenings with her friends at the Monday Night Knitting Group at Starbucks and the Friday Morning Knitters at Panera. She was a proud member and past Vice President of The Lady of Elks Springfield Lodge #158, as well Vice President of the Springfield Fiber Arts Guild. Marcy retired from Illinois Department of Corrections after 32 years of service. She began her career as a clerk and retired as an Executive II Disability Claims Adjuster. She married Richard Harbour on June 16, 2000 and they loved to travel. They took many trips to locations throughout the Midwest including annual trips to St Charles and Hannibal, MO., and extended stays in Treasure Island, Fl, and Orange Beach, AL.
Marcy is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Mark Taft.
Marcy is survived by her husband, Richard Harbour Sr.; daughter, Erica (Eric) Weaver; son, Christopher (Lacey) Campbell; stepson Richard Harbour Jr.; grandchildren, Tristan and Nicole Weaver and Addison and Payton Campbell; brother, Mike (Tracy) Taft and their children Tara and Abby Taft as well as many cousins.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the care and compassion Marcy received during her stay at The Bridge Care Suites.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral at 12:00PM at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. in Rochester. Private family graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
