I was friends with Vicki years ago, and she was my maid of honor 55 years ago. After the funeral, I was thinking bout my connection to her. We lived together for a time, we worked together, and we shared a birthday. She was kind and sensible, and a true believer. I valued our friendship and am sorry we failed to stay in touch.

We were truly blessed to have had Vicki in our lives. She played many roles in my life. I always looked up to her as an older sister, mom, mentor and forever friend. She came into my life when I was 13 or 14, she was 23 or 24. Kenny brought her over to my parents house and we all wanted to keep her. She helped me get ready for my high school prom. She gave me the most beautiful long lace gloves with a shawl. She had so much class.
Vicki had many talents that always surprised us. One day she was hand painting (free style) apples as a border around moms kitchen. I just knew she had to be an artist too. She always knew who's who and they knew her. Yet she was still Vicki, the girl from Eldorado.
She laughed at Kennys ' crazy stories (most of them were true). She put up with my dad and Kennys' adventures. When Kenny and my dad were in different hospitals in Long Beach she stayed with my mom to protect her, from what I do not know. They shared a bed and Vicki had her gun under her pillow (scary thought).
Thanksgiving and Christmas was always spent at my parents house in Long Beach with Kenny and Vicki. At that time Johnny was in the Marines. This was the best of times for my kids Kelly and John and for me as well.
We always knew that Johnny was her greatest accomplishment. She was so proud of him. With Johnny came a special bonus, Michele. She was so proud of them both and of course Cameron and Alex. This is where Vicki found her happiness most of all.
We will always miss her but we do have such wonderful memories. God bless you Johnny and Michele and family.

John Vickie and I got to be friend when we study the Bible together. We both believe in God and that was our ground work for good conversation. We both have health problems but didn't let it get us down to bad. When I had a bad day she cheered me up and I tried to cheer her up on her bad day. I will miss her. Praying for you and the family.
